DCM Signs American Racer Garrett Berry

23rd January 2024

London, UK – Motorsport talent agency, DCM, has signed junior racing driver, Garrett Berry, in their joint quest to develop Berry in Europe and preparing him for a professional career in the United States in the near future.

Since the start of his debut in single-seater cars in the 2023 FFSA Formula 4 championship, Berry concluded the season in sixth overall, tallying 2 stellar race wins over 4 podium finishes at Pau, Spa-Francorchamps, Misano and Paul Ricard. His rising performance over the course of the year caught the attention of race teams in more senior categories as well as talent agencies and scouts, leading to his signing by DCM in 2023 and Palou Motorsport in 2024 for his entry in the Eurocup-3 championship.

At a time when fanbase appetite for single-seater racing has never been higher in the United States, Berry is in a unique and advantageous position for a junior American racing driver fast-tracking his development and race craft in Europe where junior competition is highest. Following a strong 2023 season, Berry will continue to race in Europe this year in Eurocup-3, a more technically demanding and prestigious pan-European series that takes place at 5 current Formula 1 circuits in 6 countries. His signing by Palou Motorsport is a further indicator of his success in attracting the very best team personnel to support his aspirations for the 2024 season. Current IndyCar driver, Alex Palou, and his father, Ramon Palou, who are based between Indianapolis and Barcelona have expressed their confidence in Berry and the strategy of the DCM Talent Programme:

[Ramon Palou] “We are very happy to have Garrett as a driver for the upcoming 2024 Eurocup-3 season, with his incorporation, we continue to strengthen our line-up.”

[Alex Palou] “At Palou Motorsport we are convinced that with the proper help Garrett will be able to show his best version.”

Meanwhile, DCM Head of Strategy, Henry James, has had a behind-the-scenes perspective into Berry’s momentum and career trajectory:

“It’s been such a pleasure working with Garrett since last year and to see his development continue to accelerate is really exhilarating for us and the people we speak with about Garrett. In the past few months, he has stepped into a more powerful car, on new tracks, with different team personnel and management – and he has taken it all in his stride.

“It’s a rare find to come across a junior driver who is the combination of fast, determined, relaxed and always curious to adapt and learn. These skills and attributes explain why Garrett’s on track performance has been evolving so rapidly and with such promising results. Upon meeting Garrett last year, it was evident how focused he is about his ambitions in motorsport and how aware he is about the sporting and commercial responsibilities he has in order to develop his career.

“I’m very excited for Garrett’s 2024 campaign in the Eurocup-3 championship as well as the new initiatives we are embarking on to support his career in cross-related fields including video gaming and esports where Garrett has been actively involved for a number of years.”

In addition to its history of working in motorsport with SAP, DCM has been investing and conducting its own research and development in the esports sector since 2019 with projects that have caught the attention of Sony, Red Bull and Liberty Media to name a few. This year, Berry will become the first DCM driver to participate in the world of esports, not only to continue honing his various skills as a racing driver, but also to engage collaboratively within a community of more than 500 million global esports enthusiasts.

DCM Chairman, Peter Jones, said:

“We’re delighted to have signed Garrett under the wing of the DCM Talent Programme. To succeed in motorsport, one has to be bold and think big. With Garrett we have found a junior driver with proven racing ability where we feel we can develop him from our European base and then extrapolate our investment further and wider afield alongside a number of special initiatives as he rises up the motorsport ladder from Formula 4, into Eurocup-3 and beyond.

“Garrett and DCM have a close eye for him to race in the United States and we are the committed to this over the long-term. The motorsport market is healthy and Garrett loves his American roots and we believe his racing will excel where he feels his best. While he continues to live and compete in Europe for now, we are keen to start introducing Garrett to our network of investors and commercial partners in an important growth year in which we are eager to carry out our strategy with Garrett.”

Summarising his signing with DCM, Garrett Berry said:

“I am happy to announce my decision to partner with DCM to advance my racing career. In my initial meeting with Henry there was a good connection which has grown into a stronger bond in the short time we have been working together. The team at DCM is also very supportive and responsive. I believe working with Henry and DCM collaboratively will allow me to take the next steps in my racing career. I look forward to great success together!”
