Serralles Pairs with G-Drive for WEC Rookie Test

15th November 2016

London, U.K. – Felix Serralles will take part in the rookie test day of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Bahrain on 20 November with the British LMP2 team, G-Drive.

Following a successful IndyCar test earlier this month, Serralles’ management has taken the decision to diversify the experience of the Puerto Rican driver in a prototype car. The rookie test day is an important opportunity for newcomers to show their talent amongst other racing drivers who are new to LMP racing.

Serralles’ high fitness level and recent IndyCar test with Andretti Autosport will work in his favour, as Serralles is expected to complete 350km at the Bahrain International Circuit for G-Drive the day after the season finale of the 2016 WEC.

Sharing his thoughts about the test, Serralles said:

“I’m very excited to be heading to Bahrain for this LMP2 test with G-Drive. Sports cars have always been an option to continue and further my career for the better. It will be the first time I get to test with G-Drive, but I know I will have a great time driving and learning from a team that runs a very strong WEC programme and one which has also helped many drivers advance their careers to the highest levels of the sport.”

Serralles’ manager Henry James added:

“Testing Felix in a LMP2 car was a logical decision for us to make for a driver who is very hungry to race with and against some of the world’s best drivers. G-Drive have shown great attention and interest to test Felix after our initial contact, so I am looking forward to seeing Felix’s pace amongst the other rookie entries in Bahrain. If we can find the right opportunity for Felix in the WEC for next year, this is a series which would certainly interest Felix and his partners.”
