Career Management

In such a competitive sport where there is very little margin for error on and off the racetrack, it's critical for drivers to react quickly and confidently to changing scenarios.

Drivers don't just need to react to the changing opportunities and threats they can see, but also to those they can't see. In fact, there are usually more off-track factors that will affect the career evolution of a driver than on-track factors. Career management is fundamental to the planning and success of a junior or professional driver.

At DCM, we take a results-based and risk-assessed approach to the career management of our drivers. This requires a significant amount of work by our team, which involves predicting and analysing numerous potential scenarios that could positively or negatively affect the career evolution of our drivers. We use these scenarios to test the 5-year Action Plan that we create and regularly update with each of our drivers. As a result, both manager and driver are always on the same page and aware of actual or potential threats and opportunities.

Too many drivers become a passenger in the evolution of their career due to a lack of in-depth planning. DCM tackles this issue head-on by providing an extensive career management service that always aims to win and keep our drivers in control of their career as much as possible. We support our drivers in hitting their 5-year Action Plan through a process of in-depth planning, regular performance evaluations and action by the manager and driver to constantly maximise results across all aspects of a driver’s career needs on and off the racetrack.
